Interprofessional care from the policy and manager lens: building an interprofessional Pediatric OR team using a skill mix approach.

January 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am MST
Session description: Interprofessional education has often faced the challenge of being integrated into the continuum of care as an afterthought. When new clinical environments and care processes are designed from the outset, interprofessional care can significantly improve operating room efficiency, particularly in settings with limited resources. A deliberately planned skill-mix approach, led by the clinical team, can optimize the contribution of each professional, support role complementarity, and enable the development of innovative care pathways.
