Rethinking Collaboration: What’s New in the 2024 CIHC Competency Framework

Western Canada Collaborative of Health Sciences Educators Society Event:
If you’re educating health professionals, leading teams, or shaping collaborative care, you won’t want to miss what’s changed and what it means for the future of interprofessional practice. Join Carrie Krekoski as she takes us through the 2024 CIHC Competency Framework, what’s new, and why it matters for how we learn, work, and collaborate in healthcare.
This virtual event, Monday, October 19th, provides an excellent overview of the new Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) Competency Framework for Advancing Collaboration (2024) and explores the significant evolution of interprofessional collaboration competencies since the original 2010 framework.
The 2024 CIHC Competency Framework is more than an update of terminology. It reflects a broader shift toward relationship-focused, inclusive, equity-informed, and context-responsive collaboration, recognizing persons, care partners, and team members as active participants in shared decision-making and collaborative care (CIHC).
Participants will gain insight into the evidence-informed refresh process, the rationale for change, and the implications for education, practice, leadership, and the health system.
To learn more about the work done to update the framework, see this link.
Cost: Free for WCCHSE Collaborators
Registration is required to get entrance into the virtual event.
